7-Day Notice: DNC Virtual Meeting

Dear DNC Members,

Pursuant to our rules, this email serves as your official 7-day notice for a meeting of the Democratic National Committee taking place virtually on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. ET. 

We are excited to see you online for this meeting where we will conduct the important business of our party. Please find below some key information on our meeting.

Schedule & Agenda of Meeting
As we’ve previously noticed, the Democratic National Committee will be meeting virtually at 11:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, October 9. The tentative agenda for our meeting can be found here.

In addition, we wanted to let members know that the DNC Standing Committees are also scheduled to meet this upcoming week. Should you wish to watch one of our Standing Committee meetings, you can do so on the DNC’s YouTube page. This is also the same link for our General Session should members of the public wish to watch our meeting on Saturday.

For those interested, DNC Standing Committees will meet on the following dates and times:

• Credentials Committee - Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. ET

• Resolutions Committee - Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. ET

• Rules & Bylaws Committee - Friday, October 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. ET

As a reminder, the DNC Budget & Finance Committee, Regional Caucuses, Constituency Caucuses, and Constituency Councils will not be meeting at this time.

Participating in the Meeting
For DNC members, you’ll join and participate in this meeting via Zoom. All members will be in a Zoom meeting that will allow you to see each other. As our meetings are open to the public, members of the public will be able to watch the meeting on the DNC’s YouTube page.

Each member will be sent a unique link to join the meeting 72 hours prior to the start of the meeting. This link will be sent to the official email address on file with the Secretary’s Office. This link is not to be shared with anyone else as it is specifically tied to your membership profile.

Voting in the Meeting
Members will vote via a secure website during each of the votes. A secure call-in number for casting votes will also be available for those who wish to, or need to, call-in their vote.

Any member casting a proxy vote for another member will use the same secure website and/or call-in number.

Proxy
Should you not be able to attend the meeting of the Democratic National Committee on Saturday, October 9, members are able to submit a proxy. The proxy form will be available starting Monday, October 4. As a reminder, each DNC member may only hold one other member’s proxy.

If you cannot attend the meeting, a proxy must be submitted by 5:30 p.m. ET the day prior to which the proxy is to be executed. In this case, that would be Friday, October 8 at 5:30 p.m. ET. If you are able to join the meeting on Saturday, but need to depart prior to conclusion, members can submit a proxy prior to leaving the meeting by contacting the Secretary’s Office.

Party Business
The DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee met on September 24, 2021 to review and approve the Rules of Procedure that will govern the election of the 75 at-large DNC members and the 11 at-large Executive Committee members, along with ratification of the Standing Committee appointments, and other electronic meeting protocols.

Pursuant to our rules, please find the resolutions that were submitted by the 21-day deadline for consideration at our upcoming meeting here. These resolutions will be considered by the Resolutions Committee on Thursday, October 7. If you would like to add your name to any resolutions, please fill out this form here by 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday.

In an effort to better prepare you for the Fall DNC Meeting, we will be providing three different training opportunities for members that will walk you through the voting process for our upcoming meeting. You can find the times below.

• Friday, October 7 at  7:00 p.m. ET
