Winter 2025 DNC Meeting Summary

Dear DNC Member, It was wonderful to see so many of you in Maryland for our Winter DNC Meeting last week! I am grateful to all of you for your support in allowing me to continue serving you - our DNC members - as your Secretary. As we do after all of our DNC meetings, we’ve prepared a short report for you on our busy weekend. We hope this information is helpful to you in your work promoting the DNC and the work that the Party is doing. The DNC met from January 30 - February 1, 2025 in National Harbor, Maryland for the Winter Meeting. The DNC Caucuses and Councils met throughout the day on Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31 to discuss their work going forward. They heard from a variety of speakers and elected officials and strategized for the work to engage their respective constituencies. In addition, the DNC Credentials Committee, Resolutions Committee, and Budget & Finance Committee also met on Thursday morning. They considered a variety of items of party business that were then forwarded to the full membership for approval. The full DNC Membership met in General Session on Friday morning to approve the Rules of Procedure for the Party Officer Elections, which was approved by acclamation. During the General Session, the membership also adopted the Report of the Resolutions Committee which included the adoption of 45 resolutions. You can find the finalized resolutions packet here. The membership also adopted the Report of the Credentials Committee by voice vote. During this session, Chair Harrison provided moving remarks about his service to the DNC and thanked many of the officers, staff, and members for their support and all the work they have done for the Party. After the conclusion of all Party Officers elections, Chair Harrison turned the meeting over to the new DNC Chair, Ken Martin. Chair Martin gave inspiring remarks on his vision for the Party. Additionally, the Association of State Democratic Committees met on Sunday, February 2nd to elect the new ASDC Officers. Jane Kleeb, the Chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party, was elected as the new ASDC President and DNC Vice Chair. The following Chairs and Vice Chairs were also elected to represent the ASDC on the DNC Executive Committee:
It was a wonderful weekend together. I am so grateful to so many of you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to join us. Over the course of the weekend, with our Caucus and Councils, Standing Committees, and General Sessions, we had a total of 26 official meetings take place. We also had 158 volunteers help, filing 239 volunteer shifts, and we had 827 guests register and attend. Thanks to everyone who helped to make our meeting a success!
