As a reminder, the DNC along with the Georgetown University Institute of Politics and MSNBC are hosting the final DNC sponsored officer candidate forum tomorrow, Thursday, January 30th on Georgetown’s campus in the historic Gaston Hall. Because this forum will be offsite we wanted to reach out to remind you of some with logistical information if you are planning on attending the forum. If you do not wish to attend in person, we invite you to watch the forum on MSNBC’s YouTube page. To ensure adequate space for DNC members, guests will not be able to attend the forum. You will need to have your DNC Member credential to get on the bus and into the forum. The DNC will be providing buses from the Gaylord National Harbor to Georgetown’s campus for DNC members. There will be reserved seating for Members in Gaston Hall on a first come, first serve basis so please plan on taking advantage of an earlier bus. We have ADA compliant buses and if you need an accommodation and have not already informed us please email SecretaryOffice@dnc.org. BUS SCHEDULE *Arrive 10 min before bus departure PICK UP AT GAYLORD TIMES Meeting Point: In front of the Woodrow Wilson Entrance of the Gaylord Hotel, outside the Maryland Ballroom. There is a limited capacity on each bus - please plan accordingly to ensure you’re able to make the trip. If you decide not to use the bus service, we recommend that you use a ride share service. Parking is not available. Attendees must be in their seats no later than 7:30pm ET (ten minutes before the Chair’s race is scheduled to begin) and because of production will not be able to enter after that time.
PICK UP AT GEORGETOWN Meeting Point: At the intersection of 37th Street and O Street Time: After the conclusion of the Chair’s Forum, buses will run on a loop back to the Gaylord until 9:30 PM.
If you decide not to use the bus service, we recommend that you use a ride share service. Parking is not available.
Important Know Before You Go Info for Candidate Forum The forum will occur in Gaston Hall which is on the third floor of the Healy building on Georgetown’s campus. Your DNC Member credential is required to get on the bus and into the forum. DNC provided buses will drop you off at the entrance at O and 37th Street Northwest and it is about a 100 yard walk to the front doors of the Healy building. DNC Members will have their own dedicated entrance at the front door of the Healy Building. The main entrance to the building requires people to walk up three sets of stairs to enter Gaston Hall. An elevator and accessible accommodations will be available for members who are unable to navigate the stairs. If you require an accommodation please email SecretaryOffice@dnc.org. Food and metal water bottles will not be allowed in Gaston Hall but we will have water available both at the hall and on buses. All DNC members will go through a magnetometer before getting on the bus to speed up security at Georgetown and will receive a wristband to indicate to the security staff at Georgetown that you have already been screened. Attendees should bring small or, preferably, no bags to the forum. If you bring a bag to the forum, it will need to be screened by Georgetown security before entering Gaston Hall. Please refrain from bringing sticks, poles and other instruments that could delay your arrival through security. Candidate signs, placards, banners or noisemakers will not be allowed in Gaston Hall.
We anticipate some standard DC traffic on the route to Georgetown so please use the restroom before boarding the bus.
