Information on Security and Expected First Amendment Activity

Dear DNC Members,

We look forward to seeing you at the Gaylord National Resort tomorrow for the first day of our Winter DNC Meeting. As with all in-person events, the DNC prioritizes the safety of members, guests, and participants while maintaining an open and public event. Due to anticipated first amendment activity surrounding the Winter DNC meeting, there will be an increase in the security presence in and around the Gaylord Hotel as an additional precautionary measure. Members and guests should expect to see uniformed security and law enforcement officers patrolling in vehicles, on bikes and on foot, as well as K-9 activity.

As an additional security measure, all attendees will be subject to a bag search and a hand wand or magnetometer scan upon entry. Please also keep your member credential visible at all times while in the meeting spaces.

Please account for the security process time in your arrival, limit the size of any bags, and refrain from bringing sticks, poles and other instruments that could delay your arrival through security.

Should you observe something of concern, please inform the registration table, DNC staff wearing a blue staff credential, or Gaylord Hotel staff. If you have any questions while reading this email, please contact 202-989-5258. As always, thank you for your service to our party and for helping to make this meeting a safe and successful event.
