PLANNING: DNC AAPI Caucus Virtual Meeting

Dear Fellow DNC AAPI Caucus Members and Friends:

I hope you all are doing well and staying safe while enjoying this hazy, “all but lazy”,  hot summer.  I am writing to invite you to a Virtual Caucus meeting—I am trying to pin a date for either this coming Friday or early next week, pending the availability of our VIP speakers.  The meeting will be at 6:30 pm on one of those dates so that we can accommodate our Pacific Island Caucus members.   As soon as I hear back from our VIP speakers, and can confirm a date, I will send out an invite, both through this means as well as officially through the DNC Secretariat. 

I want to take this opportunity to:

• Bring you up to date on what has been happening at the National level

• Hear from our DNC leadership on early DNC investments, Voters protection efforts, and communication and messaging

• Special guests to talk about several major issues:

  •   the alarming rise in COVID cases across the country, especially in some of the red states – and what that means to us going forward—tentative speaker is a leading virologist who is also involved with CDC

  • The fight for our Democracy— inviting TX Rep Gene Wu , one of the “self-exiled” Texas legislators who is in the frontline of the fight in Texas

• Upcoming Summer/Fall meeting – at large members and elections

• DNC AAPI Caucus Committees discussion

We have a lot of catching up to do before our next meeting.   Please also let me know if you have other topics or questions you would like to discuss to add to the agenda.   I will send you a calendar invite as soon as I get confirmation on the date availability of our VIP speakers.
