Wiki Login Verification Code

HOW TO GET A LOGIN VERIFICATION CODE WHEN LOGGING IN TO THE WIKI

  1. Enter the email address and password for the DPCA Leadership Shared Account
    (request this from the DA Wiki HelpDesk if you don’t have it).

  1. IF you are asked for a verification code, go to: https://groups.google.com/a/democratsabroad.org/g/wiki-dems

  1. Paste the code into the Wiki login page.

 IMPORTANT:  Do NOT Enable 2-step verification

Instructions for obtaining a Login Verification Code for DPCA Leadership Shared Acct.

  • A new user Login Verification process may require some users of our Shared Wiki user account to occasionally obtain a “2-step Verification Code” to be able to login to the DA Wiki.

  • Note: If you see a round user icon in the top-right corner, with the letters “DA”: DA_Shared_Atlassian_account.png, you are already logged in and do not need a Verification Code.

  • Below are the steps needed to obtain and copy the required Code.

  • You should only need to do this once for your personal device.

Obtaining a Wiki Login Verification Code

  • When attempting to login to the DA Wiki, you may occasionally need to obtain a Verification Code to complete the login process.
    (Consider opening these instructions in a new browser window or tab to view them as you login.)

  • In the upper-right corner, select the “red door” icon to login to the Wiki: Wiki_Login_Verification_Code_-_RedDoor.png
    (If you see a round “DA” icon: DA_Shared_Atlassian_account.png, you are already logged in)

  • Enter the DPCA Leadership Shared Account details:
    E-mail Address and Password (provided by DA Wiki Team)

  • Follow the steps below IF you see a screen asking for a Verification Code:
    (If you see a screen asking for “two-step verification”, do NOT click Enablesee below for more details.)

  • The temporary (one-time) Verification Code has now been sent to a special Google Group web page:
    https://groups.google.com/a/democratsabroad.org/g/wiki-dems
    Open this link in a new browser window or tab and visit the group to find the most recent Verification Code for your login.

  • On the Google Group page, refresh the message list and select the most recent (top) message that has just been posted:

  • Open the most recent message and copy the 6- or 8-digit code from the e-mail message:

  • Paste the Verification Code into the Wiki/Atlassian Confluence login page and confirm that you have access to the DA Wiki.

  • Note: This code will only be used once. Your login will be stored for future visits on your personal device. If you login later on a different device, you may get another prompt for a new Verification Code, if so, repeat the process above.

  • Accept Cookies: Unless you have a personal reason for not saving Cookies, we recommend that you select the option to Accept All cookies for the Atlassian site. This should make it easier to login in the future.

CAUTION: Do Not Activate Two-Step Verification

You may also see a message during login encouraging you to “Enable two-step verification.”

  • Do Not try to enable this feature, as it will lock out other users of our Leadership Shared Account.

  • Simply select the link saying: “Continue without two-step verification” as shown in the image below:
