Managing your Google Groups Subscriptions

How to access your Google Groups web interface to view your Groups, see who is in a Group, change your Display Name, and change your Subscription Settings.

Each member of a Group can access and manage their Google Groups subscriptions from within their personal Google or Google-connected e-mail account.

View your Google Groups

You can always find your Groups subscription page at:

  https://groups.google.com/

Or, from within your Google e-mail account (Gmail or DA.org ) select the Google 9-dot “waffle” or Google App Launcher icon.  Select the Groups icon from the list of applications (this might be lower down in your list). The Groups page will open in a new browser Tab.

Managing your Group Subscriptions

All of your subscribed groups are listed under “My Groups”

Select any Group name to view:

  • Group Conversations in the web view of the Group

  • Members in the Group

  • “About” description of the Group

  • Your Membership Settings

Under “My Membership Settings” you can:

  • Change your Display Name – the name that others will see when you post to the Group

  • Change your Subscription status to be either:

    • Each Email – receive every e-mail message as it is posted to the Group

    • Digest mode – complete messages are grouped into bundles of 25 messages and sent once a day

    • Abridged mode – an abbreviated summary (not the complete message) of each day’s e-mail messages, sent once a day.

No Email – you remain subscribed to the Group and you can view the Conversations in the Google Groups web view, but you will not receive any e-mail messages on your personal e-mail address.

Unsubscribing/Leaving a Group

  • You may also permanently Unsubscribe by selecting the Leave Group button at the top of the page.

  • Warning: Only select “Leave Group” if wish to be permanently removed from the group.  You may not be able to join again without an invitation.

  • In most cases it is best to set your Subscription to “No Email” as described above.

  • No labels
