Remarks by President Biden on Gun Violence in America.

Gun Violence Awareness Month

For the month of June, we want to take a moment to honor Gun Violence Awareness Month. These past few weeks have been difficult for communities around the country who are mourning loved ones due to gun violence. At the DNC, we are committed to honoring survivors and those whose lives have been forever changed due to senseless gun violence.

This Friday, June 3rd is Gun Violence Prevention Day and #WearOrange Weekend.

Throughout this month communities will continue to mobilize for gun safety.

  • On June 11th, there will be over 300+ March for Our Lives Rallies around the country including Washington, DC. You should feel free to attend a local event

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Updates

As the DNC Counsel and Director of DEI, Tamara Chrisler has written an article for Medium called “DEI @ the DNC,” giving an overview of our DEI accomplishments since the DNC DEI Team has been in place.

Those accomplishments also reference the DNC's really impressive diversity numbers, including our staff is 44% people of color and nearly 60% women.

The DEI Team at the DNC has created a Diverse Vendor Directory, listing diverse vendors from various industries and services. The directory acts as a resource for those in the Democratic ecosystem who are seeking vendors, consultants, and contractors. If you know anyone who would like to know more about the directory, they can find more information here.

This Pride Month, we celebrate love, self-expression, and the freedom to be one’s authentic self. The LGBTQ+ movement is full of remarkable, everyday people who had the courage to assert their freedom. We wanted to make sure you had all of the resources necessary to organize with the DNC during Pride Month!  Click here to read more
