Thursday, June 2, 2022 TOP TIDBITS FROM THE DNC WAR ROOM FROM THE CHAIR'S DESK MESSAGE TO MOBILIZE ARTICLES TO AMPLIFY TOP TWEETS TALKING POINTS BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION WEEK AHEAD TOP TIDBITS This week, the Wall Street Journal ran an op-ed from President Biden outlining his plan to address inflation and transition our economy to stable, steady growth. Please help amplify this op-ed. The United States and our allies and partners are committed to supporting Ukraine and ensuring the Russian government feels the compounding effects of our economic actions. Today the United States took further actions, several of which have also been targeted by partners and allies, to crack down on evasion and tighten our sanctions to enhance enforcement and increase pressure on Putin and his enablers. Read more on today’s actions HERE. Today, President Biden and Vice President Harris announced the launch of the White House Internship Program, and that, for the first time in history, White House interns will be paid. The first session will commence in fall 2022. Read more HERE. The DNC today announced that it is providing the Massachusetts Democratic Party with the support to fund and hire an organizing director in the state. The organizing director will be charged with further building out the party’s landmark community service voter mobilization program, Blueprint to ‘22, and will help ensure coordinated voter engagement across Massachusetts’ gubernatorial, congressional, state legislative and municipal campaigns. This critical addition to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s capacity comes as part of the DNC’s State Party Innovation Fund grant program, which is designed to promote innovation and early organizing by hiring more boots on the ground to elect Democrats up and down the ticket and across the country in 2022. With the corner office at stake and key races at every level in Massachusetts, this investment will position Democrats well to take their case directly to voters and win in November.

The Biden-Harris Administration Delivers Thanks to President Biden, unemployment is near historic lows, the vast majority of Americans are vaccinated, household financial well-being reached an all-time high last year, the number of Americans relying on government unemployment benefits has plummeted, and new business applications are being filed at record rates. We face global challenges – Putin’s price hike, inflation, and a once-in-a-generation global pandemic. But because of the Biden-Harris administration’s plans, the American people are well positioned to face these challenges. Here is just some of the progress we have seen so far: ECONOMY President Biden’s economic plan has led to one of the strongest job markets in American history. When President Biden took office, our economy was in crisis and the pandemic was out of control. Since President Biden took office, 8.3 million jobs have been created. This is record setting job creation in the president’s first 15 months in office. The American economy has recovered faster than other major economies, and is poised to grow faster than China’s this year for the first time since 1976. And, the deficit was down $350 billion last year and President Biden is on track to reduce it by $1.7 trillion this year – a record. The president’s top economic priority is addressing inflation, and, unlike Republicans, he has a plan to address inflation. President Biden has a plan to lower costs – from blunting the impact of Putin’s price hike at the pump and lowering utility bills by investing in clean energy to lowering prescription drug and health care costs; from lowering the cost of child care and long-term care to easing the burden of housing costs by investing in building more affordable homes. The deficit is on track to fall by $1.7 trillion under President Biden this fiscal year. And the president has a plan to reduce the deficit even more – even as we invest in lowering families’ costs – by passing tax reform so that wealthy Americans and large corporations pay their fair share.
COVID-19 When President Biden took office, 2 million Americans were vaccinated and schools were shut down. Now, because Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan, over 220 million Americans are fully vaccinated and over 99% of schools are open.
INFRASTRUCTURE President Biden worked across the aisle to secure the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law - a once-in-a-generation investment in our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness. The law is already creating good-paying jobs, helping fight climate change, advancing environmental justice, boosting domestic manufacturing, strengthening critical links in our supply chains, and ultimately lowering costs for working families.
LEADERSHIP ON THE WORLD STAGE ADDRESSING THE INFANT FORMULA SHORTAGE President Biden has directed his administration to use the full power of the federal government to ramp up production and increase supply of safe infant formula. The Biden administration has taken a number of other important actions to ensure there is enough safe infant formula for families, including: Invoking the Defense Production Act. Entering into a consent agreement between the FDA to reopen Abbott Nutrition’s Sturgis facility. Issuing FDA guidance so that major formula manufacturers can safely import formula that is not currently being produced for the U.S. market.
Additionally, the president announced two new Operation Fly Formula missions that build on the 1.5 million bottles of formula that have already been transported in the first two Operation Fly Formula flights. Beginning June 9, United Airlines will air ship the equivalent of approximately 3.7 million 8-ounce bottles of Kendamil infant formula. This is the first Operation Fly Formula flight donated by an airline carrier. Also starting June 9, Bubs Australia will transport the equivalent of 4.6 million 8-ounce bottles of formula. This is the first shipment of 27.5 million bottles that Bubs Australia plans to export to the U.S.
