Not only are Republicans hellbent on gutting reproductive rights, extreme Republicans across the country – including in McConnell’s own caucus – want no exceptions for rape and incest, to limit access to birth control and contraceptives, and to even throw doctors in jail. The DNC released the following statement in response: “With Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell at the helm, Republicans have waged a war on abortion access. Now, McConnell is making clear that a federal abortion ban could be next on Republicans’ extreme MAGA agenda. And worse – Republicans across the country, including in McConnell’s own caucus, support banning abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest. This is what’s at stake in this election. Republicans continue to prove how dangerous Republican majorities would be, and voters will hold them accountable for their extremism.” Read more from the DNC War Room HERE. High-speed internet service is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. But too many families go without high-speed internet because of the cost or have to cut back on other essentials to make their monthly internet service payments. Lowering prices—including the cost of high-speed internet service—is President Biden’s top priority. Today, President Biden and Vice President Harris are announcing that they have secured private sector commitments that will lower high-speed internet costs for millions of American families. As part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the president and vice president worked with Democrats and Republicans to create the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which allows tens of millions of American households to reduce their internet service costs by up to $30/month (or $75/month on Tribal lands). To ensure the most efficient use of those public dollars and to deliver maximum cost savings to families, the Biden-Harris administration has secured commitments from 20 leading internet providers—covering more than 80% of the U.S. population across urban, suburban, and rural areas—to either increase speeds or cut prices, making sure they all offer ACP-eligible households high-speed, high-quality internet plans for no more than $30/month. FROM THE DNC WAR ROOM @DNCWarRoom: Mitch McConnell admitted it’s possible a Republican majority would pass a federal abortion ban. Republican majorities would be simply too dangerous for millions of Americans. @DNCWarRoom: Extreme Republicans across the country are showing us what they’re planning next after they ban abortion. No exceptions for rape and incest. Limiting access to birth control and contraceptives. Throwing doctors in jail. Republicans’ MAGA agenda is simply too extreme. @DNCWarRoom: Believe Mitch McConnell when he says it: If Republicans gain majorities they’re interested in banning abortions nationally — even if there are no exceptions for rape or incest. FROM THE CHAIR'S DESK @harrisonjaime (Instagram): Republicans are too extreme to govern. [VIDEO] MESSAGE TO MOBILIZE

Republicans’ Extreme Anti War Against Abortion Access Republicans are desperately trying to ignore and distract from their decades long war to take away abortion access. In an interview this weekend, Mitch McConnell confirmed that a federal abortion ban is “possible” under Republican control. Not only are Republicans hellbent on gutting reproductive rights, they’re standing on the side of dangerous policies that put millions of pregnant people at risk. Mitch McConnell came right out and said it - Republican majorities would be interested in banning abortions nationally. While Democrats want to protect the right to an abortion and keep these decisions between a woman and her doctor, Republicans have tirelessly prioritized taking away that right, advocating for a dangerous and harmful agenda. Already MAGA Republican governors and state legislatures have made clear what overturning Roe could look like — throwing doctors in jail and banning abortion with NO exceptions for rape and incest. If Roe is overturned, two dozen states have laws on the books to throw doctors in jail or punish abortion providers. Ending Roe means as many as 26 states could move quickly to ban abortion – including 13 states with “trigger” laws that could immediately go into effect – leaving tens of millions of Americans without control over their own bodies. Republicans’ MAGA agenda is wildly out of touch and unpopular with the American people. By about a 2-1 margin, Americans say Roe v. Wade should be upheld. AWashington Post-ABC poll found that 75% of people say decisions on abortion should be left to the woman and her doctor, including 95% of Democrats, 81% of independents and 53% of Republicans. Gallup polling shows that over 80% of the American public thinks abortion should be legal in at least some circumstances.
We are facing a pivotal moment for abortion access in our country and this November, every Republican will have to answer for their party’s relentless attacks on Americans’ rights. Voters will make their voices heard and Democrats will fight back with everything we have to elect pro-choice leaders at every level of government.
