Texas will hold a Democratic Primary to elect U.S. Representatives, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, State Representatives, and State Senators. Read about all 2022 Texas Primary Candidates here.
Voter Type
Voters choosing "intend to return" are eligible to vote in Texas state elections. There is no set date of return or a set time frame, but voters must intend to return at some point in the future.
Voters choosing “return is uncertain” are not eligible to vote in Texas state elections, but are able to vote in federal elections for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Due to the pandemic, overseas voters are encouraged to request and return voting materials via email/online/fax. Ballots via email will be released January 15, 2022. Voters requesting emailed ballots should be sure to check their spam/junk filters and secondary inboxes.

US Embassy and Consulate ContactsU.S. embassies and consulates can provide American citizens with voting forms and information about absentee voting, and can mail voter registration and absentee ballot request forms, and voted ballots back to the United States. Embassies and consulates can also advise voters on local mailing options and estimated mail transit times. In addition, the embassy or consulate can notarize or witness voting materials (if required by the state) free of charge.
