Managing your Google Groups Subscriptions

How to access your the Google Groups web interface to view your Groups, see who is in a Group, change your Display Name, and change your Subscription Settings.

Each member of a Group can access and manage their own Google Groups subscriptions from within their personal Google or Google-connected e-mail account.

Or, from within your Google e-mail account (Gmail or DA.org ) select the Google 9-dot “waffle” or Google App Launcher icon.  Select the Groups icon from the list of applications (this might be lower further down in your list). The Google Groups page will open in a new browser Tab.

Select any Group name to view:

  • Group Conversations in the web view of the Group

  • Members in the Group 

  • “About” description of the Group

  • Your Membership Settings

Settings you can:

  • Change your Display Name – the name that others will see when you post to the Group

  • Change your Subscription status to be either:

    • Each Email – receive every e-mail message as it is posted to the Group

    • Digest mode – complete messages are grouped into bundles of 25 messages and sent once a day

    • Abridged mode – an abbreviated summary (not the complete message) of each day’s e-mail messages, sent once a day.

No Email – you remain subscribed to the Group, and you can view the Conversations in the Google Groups web view, but you will not receive any e-mail messages on at your personal e-mail address.

  • You may also permanently Unsubscribe by selecting the Leave Group button at the top of the page.

  • Warning: Only select “Leave Group” if wish to be permanently removed from the group.  You may not be able to join again without an invitation.

  • In most cases it is best to set your Subscription to “No Email” No Emailas described above.
